Atelier Universal Medium & Varnish 250ml

The Atelier Universal Medium/Varnish can be used as both a medium and a varnish. Used for traditional acrylic layering, blending and feathering techniques. 

As a medium, mixing small amounts with paint will reduce the viscosity sharly and the layers will dry faster. 

As a varnish like a solvent based varnish it gives the colour saturation and enhancement. 

If you add water to the concentration, you can achieve different levels of sheen - low sheen and high gloss. 

 

It is recommended for artists to experiment with colour swatches to decide what finishes are preferred. The Atelier Universal Medium/Varnish is not removable. 

 

Very easy to use. Apply a sealing coat, one part varnish to one part water. This will allow the varnish to penetrate and seal the paint layer so that a more concentrated varnish can be spread easily when the coat is dry. Use full strength for a gloss finish or thin with water for a satin finish.
