Easily carved with lino tools and painted, like balsa wood. Soft density does not require sharp tools. Hard density is slightly harder to carve but holds intricate detail. Has no “memory” so will hold an impression by pressing an object into the surface. A steel ruler can make push cuts. Carving knives and chisels glide through and most glues work including wood glue, hot glue. Surface takes water-based or solvent-based paint.
